Hi C.A. -
And to think you were going to chase the auctioned '04. with virtually the same mileage. Imo, you've made the right choice w/o any additional expense. The car looks terrific and what's more, you've got a known entity, not a mysterymobile which is what you'd have bought. Again, just my opinion - others mileage may vary ...
Always remember, a bird in the hand is worth two flyin'.

Very cool car - nice catch. I think the OEM flashlight typically rots out from battery leakage if someone puts batteries in the flashlight then leaves them in for a couple of years. Its a crap flashlight anyway - I always have a two flashlights in each car - currently a mini LED Maglight in glove and and full size LED MagLight min the trunk.

What color is that interior? Is that a dark grey? Very nice.

No ul
So down under the UL has no air suspension? I rather prefer that instead actually, all the UL goodies without worry about the air popping.
By "torch" you mean flashlight right?

Thanks for helping me make the right descision. i actually thought everyone would have said go the 04 and it would have been so much hassle to do it.
I Got the smart key system working and am very very impressed with the side view mirror lightling up when i was up to the car. This is by far 250 times better than the 98 ls400 i owned

The interior is black on black.
I was very shocked about the smart key too as i thought it was 2004 up too.
The key is indeedy the smart key.
When i walk up to the car the mirror illuminates the floor, door opens by touch, closes by button, turns on by twisting the lock, and doesnt work with the valet key only with the master key.
The car is back at the dealer getting the parking sensor replaced so i cant take a pic just yet.

I found a good article on the 2001 LS430 which was delivered to Australia.
It seems that not all lexus's are fully loaded as mine thankfully comes with the $8500 rear seat package!!

and no fridge..
so this is a UL minus the fridge, ML, and air ride?
well at least this one didnt come with a chevy engine, you know how they do it from down under... everything gets a chevy engine =P
but i love the no ML, bc now your options are limitless and hassle free to do whatever you want for sound. mine had ML and i tried to avoid that as much as i could when i was searching for my car.

RHD Lexus LS430 for AUS is the same package as Japanese equivalent Toyota Celsior, so this particular car would be equipped the same as the "C Package" with air suspension (maybe not for AUS) and similar to the USA model Ultra Luxury. The headlights also point to the left of the car as opposed to the right as in the USA, so that oncoming traffic is not blinded in the beam. (a different reflector unit inside the HID lamp assembly) and yes, the LS430 was replaced in Japan 8 months earlier than in the USA so there may well be a 2000 model Australian/British export version.
