radar laser cruise control
I've got 170k on the odo, and apparently the glass that covers the laser has become pitted and now the laser control won't work so not only will the active cruise control not work, but even the standard cruise control won't work....dealer wants $2700 to replace entire unit...eee-gads!
Any thoughts?

before you drive off, after you've started the car turn on the cruise and hold the toggle stick thing down pressed towards your feet for like 2 seconds and that will disable the radar cruise and then when you drive off you can use the normal cruise. only thing is you have to do it each time you turn the car on and half to do it before you go over like 15mph or some ridiculous shiz like that.
mine is errored out as well and i'm not going to pay for a brand new unit at dealer prices thats for sure. just have to live with the inconvenience of it i spoze.

Disabling the laser cruise
All you have to do is hold your lever forward each time you start your car. Wait for it to not say "laser" and you should be good. It only takes like 1 second of holding it forward, but wait for the message to change. You can do this until you hit 25 mph, or you won't be able to change it until next time you start the car. Hope this helps.
