She's very skinny. No, the right side of the garage (when viewed from outside) is reserved for the primary vehicle of the season. I back in so the passenger door can be opened fully without hitting the other vehicle. There is then plenty of room for me to help her transfer from the wheelchair to the car. The second car is tucked into the left side of the garage to make room. I most always take the car on the right side of the garage to work so my wife's caregivers can also back into the garage and transfer her out of the rain or snow.

If the second car is being used regularly, I pull it in forward so the passenger door can be opened into the wide area between the cars. The wide space between the cars also ensures that we can always push the wheelchair through the garage even if both cars are inside.

BTW, I think the LS is a bit worried about being parked next to a 4-cylinder car. I filled it up yesterday afternoon and after this mornings 45 mile commute, the average MPG for this tank read 26.9.

ha ha... then you should have gotten a Vespa and the LS might then pass the 30 mpg mark.

26.9 mpg from this big monster.. incredible. Some midsizes a few years back could barely break the 24 mpg mark.

My commute is about 80% freeway with little to moderate traffic. I drive a steady 75 for part of the distance and a steady 65 for another part. Unless I'm in traffic or on city streets, the adaptive cruise is on. Usually the tank average is between 24 and 25 MPG for my usual driving.

Default Loved the Outback

Our '99 Outback was great. Put 8500 mile road trip with a Yakima on top and managed 23 mpg at mostly 75-85 mph. At end of trip rear wheel bearings were shot from down force! Dealer warranty covered it.

At 50,000 the front seals started leaking, a common problem in this engine, again covered under warranty.

Used this car for ski trips and plowed easily thru foot deep snow (with front wheels chained). Also used for backpacking trips with car really loaded and it never complained. Sold car to friend who moved to Alaska and he loves using the car there.

Our criticism was that driver's seat did not go back far enough.
