I have a 2001 lexus ls430, every option, bought it for a 3rd car to travel in. 143000 miles. First off, the mark levinson sub is busted. I read the thread and it was great. Second I am getting a VSC message light. Also got a check engine light and found it it is the right and left bank O2 sensors. Would that have anything to do with the laser guided cruise control giving me a check cruise control message or the VSC message? The cruise control will not engage. Great site and thanks for the help.

Great site. I had a check engine light on and went to autozone it said that the right and left bank O2 sensors are bad. I just searched and found out that could be causing my VSC light to come on. Thoughts?

Hello and welcome to CL!
On the first question, this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...nd-part-s.html
should answer most or all of your questions.
On the second issue of the check engine an VSC light, since you know it's a O2 sensor just change it (was $200 for mine with labor and OEM Lexus part) and all your problems will go away, even the cruise control will work again.
I had exactly the same problems as you did. Also a month after the first sensor was replaced, the second O2 sensor on the other side went. Changed it and didn't have a problem since.

I was just wondering if it was possible for these O2 sensors to actually last as long as 140,000 miles before replacement? I have the entire history of my car with 100k without any 02 replacement. When are most owners generally replacing them? Are there any other issues when they go other than the dash light reminder?
I replaced mines at around 90k but just two on each side of the motor (the hardest ones to get to), the other two on the exhaust pipes are original.
O2 sensor malfunction causes:
1. Check Engine Light on dash
2. VSC Light on dash/VSC inoperable
3. Cruise control inoperable
4. Fuel economy sucks

My original front right O2 sensor heater element died (DTC P0155) after 8 years and 2 months, during which only 84000kms were driven. I bought a new OEM Denso sensor online for $79.26USD +$25.20USD shipping from sparkplugs.com and changed it myself.
The local Lexus dealer wanted $371CAD for the sensor + $106CAD for labor + 13% sales tax, so I saved myself ~$434.
