Yes you do "Lucky", and don't think the though of all that SC430 reliability didn't cross my mind today.

Just got back from the MB dealer and lo and behold that the service item that came up "check engine" had a software fix that just came out Tuesday. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

By the way MB asks when you use one of their "loaner" cars that you fill up the gas tank to full like it is when they give it to you. Do not ever recall paying for gas with Lexus for a loaner car. Also when they gave me back the car the clock was off a couple of hours. Must have had to disconnect the battery. The SL has 2 batteries with one in the trunk and one in the engine. To be continued .....

Also I am not here to bash MB but to just give you all a chance to see the "other side" and maybe appreciate your cars more. I am also not looking for sympathy as I'm probably driving some of the last cars of my life and wanted the MB experience as well.

Thanks for all the feedback as I will continue the saga .....
I have seen and heard the "other side" enough to know how amazing my LS430 is. But you are right, it is nice to experience everything in life once.

I guess I don't really care to experience inferior things in life if I don't have to

Fun to hear about your experience though, just another experience to confirmed all of the other experience of the "other side" I have heard

Is there a new recall on the LS430 I am not aware of?

The 2 latest recalls I saw this morning was on the Avalon and LX470:

Or is there any recall on any of the models I have listed in my signature?

We don't own any new models for a reason my friend

This is why I am paying very close attention to the Equus, because Lexus is sinking.....I am preparing to jump ship if I have to

I had a MB from 2002 to 2010. Mechanically I did not have any major problems. There was a common problem with the power steering pump and hose. MB covered it with a 10 year unlimited miles warranty. The problem was an O ring that went bad with age. Fixed it myself. Dealer wanted $1500 to replace the rack. The ML had 250000 miles when I totaled it. The command screen the last year was possessed. It would stay blank for days on end and then suddenly come on. The only way to turn the radio off sometimes was to turn the engine off. Any vehicle has the potential to be a headache. Some are just more so than others

Yes, Toyota and to a degree Lexus quality has been fading. Fortunately they seem to realize this and are promising to restore quality as #1. Time will tell.

If the decline continues to 2020 they might just sink to MB's quality of the past 15 years.

Toyota and Lexus need to come up with a 10yr 100k mi warranty to restore confidence. And, need to give some kudos to existing owners. Loyalty program or extended warranty offer.

Hope not. I'm not as confident jumping into the next one having read some of the stories. The 460 time line for us is getting pushed back further.

Hyundai, Kia and Mitsubishi offer 10-year/100,000-mile coverage. And look what it did for Hyundai. As a former Marketing Exec I think your idea would be the ideal way for them to not only regain market share but kick a little butt.

Oh to dream of owning a new LS460 WITH 10-year/100,000-mile coverage. Where do I sign?

Pay attention to North Korea odds are at 60% that a conflict will go in the next 3 years. The warranty specifically states void during nuclear war.

Keep the updates coming

I owned a SL for many years. Total money pit but trade off was somewhat worth it as once you go convertible, its hard to go back to hardtop.

I've looked into some new SL55/SL63 and prices sure have come down. Definitely will go with a CPO one if I decide. My family is pretty much all Mercedes and Toyota (meaning at least one of each at the same time).

German cars don't coast like Japanese car when you let go of the gas. The Lexus seems to just coast on and on while the German (Mercedes/BMW) seem to want to engine brake as soon as you take off the gas pedal.

BlackUltra - Don't you have the Neck Air Curtain on yours to cool you down?

Actually, Hyundai is from South Korea and is pretty diversified. I'd not expect this company to fail before Ford or GM... again
