So long fellow LS owners.....

I have owned cars from all over the world, and motorcycles too. My brother owns a large shop and used to race Formula 4. I guess you could say were a 'driver's family'. Yet, my opinion will differ from my brother's and it will differ from all of you.
I love the way the Caddy drives, but I hate just about everything else about it. I got nothing against GM, I have owned three or four, but their quality sucks right now. Their cost of ownership is high. Their resale value is pathetic [there is ALWAYS a reason that resale value is low] and "customer service" is a foreign phrase to their dealerships.
BMW has the best steering box in the business, but otherwise it may not be the "ultimate driving machine" MB and Volvo are the safest, currently MB holds it value better. Lexus may be the most durable over the long haul, but they are also some of the most expensive cars to repair.
I have an LS 400. I have put only 8,000 miles on it but it has already cost me more than the Volvo 850 T-5 I put over 200,000 miles on. The Lexus has a great ride but the 850 was much faster, handled better and in my opinion had much better seats. [Not the leather but the shape. Lexus leather is awesome].
The truth is all car companies have only one objective, to make money. None of them care about their customers beyond what it takes to get them to spend more money. In this regard, Lexus and MB are no different than Yugo.
American car companies still have not figured out how to please customers and thus have not figured out how to be profitable on a consistent basis. But the motive behind the LS is exactly the same as it was on the Chevy Vega - to make as much money as possible. Nothing more and nothing less.
I don't understand brand loyalty. Nobody owes a car company any loyalty. They have done the consumer no favors. I love cars not brands. I have owned a Dodge Challenger [boy I wish I still had that] and an old Torino with a 429, I had a Chevy Monza with a small block V8 under the hood. I have also had Hondas, Toyotas, Pontiacs etc etc. I currently own the Lexus, a Dodge 3500 duely, and a BMW motorcycle. BTW, same goes for motorcycles. I buy what is best for me that particular day. I have had Hondas and Yamahas as well.
Don't worry that the LS 460 will make a comeback, if it doesn't someone from another company will fill the void if there is a market for it.
