Glad to see someone from Dubai

Well for the radio specifications as your car is an american spec. You need to visit sharjah opposite sharjah cricket stadium u will find many audio system shops and there is a shop name called khan i guess they can get your fm transmission fixed all they do is replace a tweeter behind in the trunk near the navigation system and it will get you all the uae channels like a GCC car

I got the dhs 100 map but its way outdated, compared to my Garmin gps with 2010 GCC maps. Will have a go at getting the radio freq fix. When you mean tweeter what is that? does this affect any other radio operation?

yes for converting odometer from miles into km and temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius can be done by other electrical shops who have got the computer device and not with the audio shops and for doing that you can do it in sharjah at al taqi workshop which is on bmw road

i have a 2005 lexus ls430 ultra but i didnt really bother making this change it doesnt matter

Thanks for the info diplomacyk... I tried the radio thing today, the guy wanted dhs1500 for the unit. Thats a bit too much for this. He also said he can give me the latest GCC maps with voice commands but I have to buy a new drive .. dhs2500. Well I can live with the basic map. Would you know how much al taqi might charge? would save me a trip all the way there.

dont pay them so much i have the navigation of 2008 and if u r not new in here u really dnt need an updated one

al taqi wouldnt charge more then 200 for just converting them ..maybe 100 dhs or 150dhs max coz its not a big deal job

Thanks.. I don't need the new map either.. in fact I have a garmin gps with 2010 maps.. its just nice to have the voice commands working but not at that cost. Might give the metric conversion a go.. only worry if that might screw up the other programs..
