A young man needs to have some fun with is money.

When I was young I spent thousands of dollars on partying, drugs, booze, and loose women, the rest I wasted.

: )

Actually just kidding I been pretty much saving my *** off since I turned 30 or so. I have the things I like within reason but I have always saved at least 10-15% percent of every dollar I earn. I waited a long long time till I got an LS430 and then I bought a used one for cash. That's just me - everybody has a different path to take in life.

Same here. It took me a year of saving cash to buy my LS, but it was well worth it. While I was saving I was looking for the perfect one.

so leaving my neighborhood this morning i got 3 dirty looks and 1 wave (from some old active lady in her 70's), this is the norm for me since the average age in my neighborhood is like 72

i am used to it and usually don't even think about anymore but your thread reminded me about it
i will always wave to them even if i know they are just gonna stare and give me the i just shat my pampers look...

but we will all be there one day and it will be our turn to give the dirty looks to the young cats,,

I get that ALL the time. I figure people are sizing you up based on your car. They wonder what type of person you are for buying an expensive luxury car.

Basically I too, don't look like a person that would be driving an LS. I've notice if I'm in a suit, I get less glares.

One other thing I think we get these looks is most people you see pushing flagship land yachts are older with salt & pepper hair or str8 snow on the roof. So when they see younger cats jumping out an LS it is not the norm for them, thus the dirty looks coming at you.

I don't get the looks from other ls 430 owners but I do get get from ls 400 owners, personally I love the 400 wanted one since teenager but settled for the cressida (nice car). So many 430's around here you think there giving them away, surprised there not members here.

Same thing where I live - nobody gives me a second glance - but I'm a 55 yo bald headed old geezer so I look the part. But LS and LX Lexus models are a dime a dozen around my town. I think there are 2 other black cherry LS430s within a mile of me and they are supposed to be rare - its weird.

If you live somewhere where LS430 is rare you will get noticed.

when i first got my car in 08 i didn't see that many, fast forward 2 years or so and they really seem to be multiplying. makes me want to mod mine more and more because i only ever see one other ls430 that has any mods in my normal driving range. i feel that the more stock ls's i see the more i want mine to look extra special, i just need to make sure that they are tasteful mods and not junk cheap looking mods. so far i think i'm good in that department but i got a couple things in the pipeline (queue) so i hope i can still say that in a month or two.

I've gotten looks from ES and RX owners. Probably wondering how I could be driving a Flagship Land Yatch
