Your most welcome. It sure does look sweet. If only it was a UL with black on black.

You're prepping for MCAT ayy? What med schools do you have in mind?

What are your future goals?

Woops I'm off topic..lol...

I'm currently a human biology major at Michigan State. I am looking to apply to both the MD and DO programs at State. I am also looking at Wayne State and Oakland (ones in MI) as possible med schools. U of M would be phenomenal, but they're basically ivy league range, so I highly doubt that will happen . Yeah I'm just doing some car research as a break in between review.

As for future goals, I want to becoming a practicing doctor. I like surgery a lot, but there are so many fields that I really haven't had a chance to explore them all. Private practice also sounds nice where I get to be my own boss and have my own patients. Ah well, that will require a few years of work anyways before I can think of investing in such a thing.

Almost forgot to ask, are you a doctor Lexuslspro? If so what sort?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far!

Good luck in your studies. I've heard that aspiring to be a surgeon is like a flight student aspiring to be a Navy fighter pilot - many want the glory but most end up flying cargo planes. Is that true?

Please don't be another dermatologist because you want the rich, private pay patients. Then again, becoming a primary care physician can leave you wondering why you endured the headaches and debt of medical school and residency only to deal with shrinking HMO, Medicaid, and Medicare payment rates.

No, I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV. I just consult in healthcare IT. BTW, don't forget MCO in Toledo for consideration.

Now, back to the Lexus search.

Idk about the surgeon part. I do know that it is a lot of time spent, so many people may just want to get on with their lives. I have no rush really, so I wouldn't mind the extra time. Like I said earlier, that is only a preliminary interest (I've sat in on several surgeries and was always fascinated so that's how I made that call) and I will be keeping an open mind to all the possibilities. I really hope that healthcare straightens out. Either that, or things become a LOT cheaper. I wouldn't really mind it if that whole thing with limiting a CEO's income to 500k a year came into effect. Then I really won't be that poor with my 100k or less. Still though, med school is going to be expensive and I also need $$ for living costs. Hopefully it doesn't end up too badly.

And yes back on topic. I emailed the guy for more pics and threw up an offer of $23k. He didn't accept (it's 4k off the asking price) but he wasn't totally against it either (the whole I'll see what I can do, but it's unlikely routine). Will call later (he wants me to call and ask for the pics)

I wish I was a doctor

I'm doing general Bio...I'll probably be taking the MCAT in a few years.

It's good that you are in no rush ...I think taking your time is really important.

Enjoying it while it lasts

I plan(hope) to take the same route...I've got my sights set on surgery aswell.

I hear general surgery is hell though. You get to(practically forced to do) all the surgery all the other specialists don't want to do.

Bowel surgery(part of gen surgery) is another one I wouldn't want to do...but some might enjoy it.

Lol..I enjoy being off topic..lol!

Here is an idea...lets start a premed thread...

Try telling that to my mcats lol

Ok back on topic. So the silver 430 I posted earlier (Lexus of Merrillville) cut his price from 27773 to 25500 with CPO, 24500 without. I offered 23k but said I would jump to 24500 WITH CPO if and only if the closer pics checked out. I did get some feedback on my other thread (asking if the ppl close to IN to help me look at the car) and a member has kindly written a long review saying that there are some scratches and one dent. Salesguy doesn't think there's been paintwork done, but it's best I get a second opinion from a professional body shop. I just need to sell my car first. No one is buying though.... My ad has been up 2 days and no serious replies. Does that mean my price is too high?

What is your car exactly? Mileage, year, and model?

Try Ebay!

I think that'll really sell your car!

Definitely man! I consider you a friend You, along with everyone else, have been so overly nice to me (a random new member). I have never been on a forum where everyone is nice and willing to help (though the BMW were pretty good, but not this good).

I've thought about Ebay. My friend used it once to sell his laptop (a high end Asus gaming one) and all he got were spam with some guy saying "I need to buy this laptop for my son in Nigeria and will pay you $5000". Plus he told me it was quite expensive. I thought autotrader would be the best since someone highly recommended it. I have CPO so I am currently priced about 2k above private sale level (I came in selling it for the same $25k I got it for last yr, that didn't work when dealers with CPO were priced below me). You think I should just take a hit and drop to private sale price?

How is your other car price in relation to KBB private party price and what other similar cars within 150 miles are priced. Remember, luxury cars in general are selling slower in this economy and RWD cars are likely to not be on the top of folks lists at the end of summer.

Be patient, UofM and MSU graduate / foreign students are arriving on campus and the Ann Arbor and Lansing car markets probably pick up a bit.

This is true. I am currently priced at 23500 where KBB says private sale is at 21xxx. If I don't get anything for a few days I will probably drop down to 22k or just bite the bullet and give in at the 21xxx on KBB. As for the foreign kids, if they're anything like the ones at MSU, they're only here to lease for a few years. That, and all of them get higher end models. They skip right over my car and get M3s, M5s, M6s, 7 series or X5s or X6s (if they're BMW). Lexus IS is also pretty popular. Merc is probably the most popular with a lot of C and E-class and the SUVs as well.

@lexuslspro: I have a 2007 BMW 328i, 6 speed manual, silver/black, 42600 miles. Interested?
