If believing it's plastic makes you happy, then I suggest you do so. No harm, no foul.

The LS interior trim is wood, unfortunately glossed and coated so much it looks plastic. But it is wood - you can see that if you ever get a new piece and it won't match the rest of the trim in stain and grain type - the original pieces are all matched for each interior.

LOL I knew someone would respond. Glad to know it's real. I certainly hoped it was and didn't bother to research. Thanks for the link. Good to know my car has live sustainable products lucking inside the cabin!

The 2010 LS460 Sport package has the unpolished wood which I would imagine might give a more "realistic" look and grain feel. I personally like the polished/varnished look, but the Lexus is a little "fake" at times when you look.

The LS is not a perfect vehicle by any means, but it's the details and attention to the driver's details that set it apart of other vehicles. They've done their homework to make sure the ergonomics of the driving position and buttons are placed within reach with little to minimal movement of the driver.

The only button I can think of that is not placed very well in the 430, are the "beep volume" and "tire pressure reset buttons." They're sort of concealed and out of the way where you can't really feel for it. Even the gas/trunk levers you get use to once you know right is trunk, left is gas.

This is one car I truly look forward to having 15+ years... not something I can say for most of the cars I've had before.
