I actually thought the sound was better than my CD player. I had to play with the volume of the my Ipod shuffle to get the best quality sound with minimum hissing.

+1. Setting the ipod/iphone on max volume usually ends up in really distorted sounds when hooked up to a cassette player. I find that 3/4 vol yields the best results.

I currently run the Sony Cassette and find that to be excellent as well (and cheap lol).

Anything is an approvement over messing with inserting and removing CDs on a regular basis. That's basically "frontierland" these days.

Be careful with the ipod volume if it's too high it'll blow the speakers and The Marks aren't cheap but yea for $10 you can't beat it
