The clublexus price at Sewell online is only $21.64, so $43.28 for BOTH. Another thing you can do is check the PS seat filter (probably a lot cleaner than the DS). If so, you can just swap them.

Interesting...wonder what the fix-it cost is if the seat ventilation is plugged up with dust and grit. That $41 filter may not seem so bad.

I suppose if you could remove the fan under the seat, you could blow some compressed air through the tubes to help clear out any plugged vent holes.

Parts prices.......in July myself and someone else wanted the same freeway lane at the same time. That's another story, but new left headlight - $1250. New driver's side mirror = over $500. New door handles front and rear door driver's side - over $300 EACH. Makes the $41 filter seem cheap.

I replaced 3 plastic engine compartment screws and was charged $3.50 each! We are talking about an item that should be less than 5 cents. I can say that the LS430 is a reliable car, but when the time does come.......and it certainly will to replace parts, owners will be reaching deep into their pockets.

I always check part prices online and usually don't bother checking local dealer prices. Even with shipping to Canada, buying online from the US works out to be cheaper than going local. Try the following sites:

My 2005 LS430 costs more to insure than my 2008 GX470... Around $300 more per year or so. When I questioned the difference with my insurance company, they stated it was due to the higher cost of parts for the LS430...

just at home Depot as I needed some 1/4" washers and a small box of them was $55.00, I about fell over,,

prices are certainly getting higher but the Lexus dealers seem to think everyone has bottomless pockets for paying their prices,,

Mine is the opposite...2005 LS430 costs LESS to insure than my 2003 LX470. The LS's largest component is collision/comprehensive (due to parts prices), while the LX's largest expense is due to damage you'll do to someone else's car. My 2001 honda prelude costs more to insure than my LS. I guess is because most LS owners here in AZ are retirees who drive kind of slow and seldom venture out at night.

I checked min out and with a little over 50k- they look good as new. I didn't hink of replacing due to this. I would love to see a picture of one that is dirty and see how many miles are on the car. It probably has a lot to do with how ofter the car is vacuumed, etc.
