Default 18 Inch Wheels and Sport package

My 2006 ML has 18 inch wheels from new. Does this mean it must also have the sport suspension. There are no fender badges to indicate sport but I was looking through the options for the 2006 and I did not see that it was possible to get the 18 inch rims without the sport package.

Is there anyway of finding out the original specification from the vin# ?

I emailed Lexus customer service and they sent me back a very detailed email confirming all of my car's options. My car has the sport pack and it does have the side badging indicating that it has the sport suspension. The sport pack is something of a misnomer, however, it's not at all sporty but it does ride well.

The Sport package only came with Chrome 18's. Matte 18's were standard for the 2006 LS430. You could also purchase the Chrome upgrade as an option for the 2006. Therefore, you could have a non-sport chrome 18 LS in 2006.

I believe some of that is incorrect, per the sales brochure and what I've seen:

- 17" silver wheels were standard

- 18" silver wheels were optional for non-sport package cars

- 18" silver wheels came with the sport package

- 17" or 18" chrome wheels were optional (I don't know if 18" chrome wheels were available on sport package cars.)

I too have optional 18s without the Sport Package.

Not sure this car needs 18 inch wheels, but they are nice wheels

From my observation, most 05-06 models had the 18inch wheels.

The 2004 model is where things got messy, even a good number of '04 ultra's were dressed in 17inch wheels.

My 04 UL had 17" wheels.
