Not sure if you saw this other tire thread in which I posted an Excel spreadsheet with some test data from TireRack?

You'll have to check to see if the Continental DWS is available in the size you need, but of the all season type, I think these are probably your best bet. If you just need a very good 3 season tire, then you could try the Continental DW. I just installed the DW on my car and have been extremely impressed. Some other members have the DWS and seem to really like them too.
Good luck!

Great specs to breed some respect for the Conti brand and your ideas after 150 miles are to be noticed. Michelins are always so darn consistent in my exp.
In a few sentences or less how do tires stop sooner? There is microskidding you do not feel which adds up as the brakes create friction?

I put a set of Primacy MXV4 on my 06 LS. I now have about 3k miles on them and they have become very quiet and smooth. I was surprised to see the data from the tire testing spreadsheet (posted above) showing the Primacy tires to be trailing in many of the measures. My personal purely anecdotal experience is that the Primacys work well on the LS but if I had it to do over again I would at least investigate the Continental tires. It is a challenge to pick a tire based on ratings, as it is my experience that each tire reacts differently to unique size, weight, and suspension of a car. Years ago, I picked a number 1 rated tire for my Acura Legend - drove around with the new tires for about 300 miles - hated the noise, and way they rode and handled. Ended up going back to tire place to have them removed so I could go back to the standard Michelins that the car came with originally. That car rode like a dream on those V rated Michelins. Sounds like some folks have installed the Conti tire on the LS and really like it so I would definitely also consider that tire.

haha. i put a new set of tires on my whip yesterday. i went with goodyear eagle gt's. they set me back about 130 a tire, same size - 225/55/17. would DEF recommend them. awesome tread pattern, and they look like excellent tires for the upcoming wet weather. a bit noisy on the road, but not too bad. overall 9/10. i would check em out if i were you.
