first off who here has shaved their fenders? anyone,,
secondly, i had mines done yesterday and 1 looks about perfect all the way around but one seems to have a real rough edge with a lot of flake at or near the edge. i have since taken touch up paint and done about 2 layers on each inside fender that was shaved, but i am just curious if there is a better way to make sure the flake doesn't spread.
when standing and looking down at the fenders there is no sign of paint flake but when you squat down directly in front of the fender on the one you can see the paint flake on the inside portion of the shaved fender, like the paint is just raised up and flaky. is there a good solution to fixing this permanently??? thanks,

I was scared of the sharpe edges so i ended up rolling mines with the heat gun procedure, now even if my tire should touch i aint gotta worry about them getting cut up by the fender, if i were u, i'd mask off the outter fender and slighty try a lil sanding, u even gotta be careful when u wash so u dont get cut, hope i was helpful.....

the rear 265x35x20 tires i ordered were to big so i had to order some smaller tires. the wheels looked awesome on the car and the front was able to stance perfectly but the rear just sat on the fender (prior to shave). so we (the shop) took the wheels off and hopefully in a day or two the new tires will be in and then all will be good (i can stance the car real flush hopefully).
a 265x30x20 would have been perfect but i couldn't get a matching set of nitto 555's and a 275x30x20 may have been pushing it just a little or may have been flush as a piece of paper who knows.
i felt the fender edge this morning and it felt fine, not brittle or anything (soft like an abundant amount of fresh paint). i will try to put a few more coats on it and see what that does, but i am real hesitant to start sanding for fear of opening up new issues. i don't think it will cut into the tire since the sharp edge is like 1/16" of an edge or lip as it is.. the tire should not be touching the 1/16" lip and if it is than i have other problems cuz that would prolly easily bend the fender if it touched with any force.

one of the main reasons i didn't want to roll was cuz i was scared of the dimples. i have seen a lot of dimples in lexus's with rolled rear fenders lately and knew that would bother the hell out of me.

My fenders are shaved too I haven't had any problems with the paint chipping make sure they paint the raw metal good they also make a rubberized black spray in a can that will help seal things up, you could gave ran a 275/25 in the rear and a 235/30 in the front nitto makes those in the invo. I'm running vredestine sessanta 245/30 and 285/25 and my tires have a nice roll in the sidewall

the guy who i bought the wheels from was running a 245x35x20 as his rear so i had moved that to the front and was trying to run a bigger tire in the rear, well now i will be putting the 245x35x20 back on the rear

the raw metal is mostly painted really good right now cept for about 2 spots on one fender and 1 on the other where the paint is lifted off the actual flat edge and i tried to get some fresh touch up paint inside to fill in the gap. its only noticeable from like a foot away if you are looking directly at it,, i just want to make sure it doesn't get any worse, i am fine with it the way it is right now, as long as it doesn't get any worse.

The 245/35 is an inch over spec from the factory diameter which really isn t that big of a deal that's why I went with a 30 series and staggered with a 25 series in the rear No limit in Baltimore shaved my fenders and actually did a great job! You can get that spray at like a napa or maybe advanced auto! Hopefully you ll have your car for the meet this weekend

yeah where? what is the spray called or what does it look like?
i had a hard ride a while back on 275x30x20 a couple years ago and can't go any smaller of a side wall than that, plus my 245x35x20 will be a stretch so its prolly a little less out of spec but a little over. i've been riding on 5% smaller than spec for the last year with my 19's so it will be pleasing to get back into some thing larger.
