i put on an aftermarket exhaust on my last lexus gs400 and was super pissed at the increased loudness of the exhaust sound. just know what you are getting into is all.

Oh trust me, I know what I'm getting into. My previous car was lowered about 2 inches from stock on Koni adjustables. I loved the ride and miss the body control in my LS. The LS feels like an 80's Caddy. Comfy but I'd prefer more control, not to mention less wheel gap.

I'll be going with Bilsteins in the new year on my '04. Cost is just over $2k AUD plus fitting, which I'll be doing myself.

I've had two sets of teins in the past, and in my experience, the name of the company is a bit of a misnomer. There's nothing particularly innovative about their technical designs. The only teins I would recommend would be the mono-flex. They seem to be the only model that can tame their springs reasonably.

Japanese coilovers in general are made with the totally wrong approach to suspension control. super high spring rates, matched with lazy dampers is not the path to handling happiness. What you need is the opposite. as fast responding a damper design as you can get, with the lightest spring you can get away with for the application.

Body-roll is addressed with sway bars, not spring rates.

Cheap coilovers cost what they do for a reason. They do not work well, their quality control varies quite widely, and more often than not, they are not serviceable,so when they leak or start to get noisy,it's throw them out and start again.

Do it once,do it right.
