Timing Belt not changed over 90k
#31
I got 102k on my ls430 and I am planning to replace the following components at 105k; timing belt, drive belt, radiator flush and service, and spark plugs. I am a weekend mechanic and this is the first time that I’m going to replace timing belt myself. Just yesterday, I asked the dealer on the price of replacing drive belt and timing belt and they said it will cost me $920.00 plus tax. I will give myself the whole weekend to get everything done. The only concern I have is to properly install the timing belt, since this my first time doing it. I welcome any suggestions or advices... thanks in advance for the help!

Not only the WP but the pulleys and tensioner as well. Check crank and cam seals for leakage and R&R if wet.

By the way, sales tax on automotive repair labor is making its way through the Georgia legislature. Save yourself some money by getting repairs done before this becomes law. The same law also reduces personal income tax.
