Default PPE headers for LS430

I am not sure if anyone else would have been interested in the headers on their LS, but i let Paul at PPE use my car to prototype the headers.
there is a significant increase in power. they are a shorty header, it just replaced the stock manifold and it uses the stock 02 sensors. there is no need to extend the wires.
here are some pictures and a dyno.
my car is a completely stock 2001 with 80,000 miles, other than the headers.
and his website is PPEengineering.com

not enough to say definitively. only at full throttle is it more noticeable but it still isn't loud by any means.

I'm interested. How much for this set-up (if you don't mind me asking)?

since there are no changes to the functionality of the 02 sensors and catalytic converter, it WILL pass smog.

How hard are these to install? Do you have to pull the engine? My LS430 looks really tight!!!

Does that dyno chart show much lower hp and torque from 0-5000rpm, and slightly higher hp and torque from 5000 to the 6xxx redline? It's really blurry, can you upload a higher-resolution scan?

i didn't install them. PPE did when they made them. sorry i can not be of any help.
i don't think that they pulled the motor, i believe they installed them from the bottom.

as far as the dyno chart, you'll have to get a hold of PPE to ask if they have any other charts. as far as lower horse power numbers on lower rpm, the drivers seat doesn't seem to reflect that. the feel of the car is an improvement across the entire rpm range.

i hope this helps.

nice. good to know different styles of headers are becoming more widely available for these cars. if I wasn't building my 69' fastback right now I would might consider these as a nice upgrade. any increase or decrease in MPG's? probably hard for you to tell with that heavy foot of yours. lol - also have you already icreased your incoming airflow into the engine by installing a higher flowing throttlebody/manifold?? that might increase your power curve on the lower RPM's.

the car was completely stock except for the headers at the time of the dyno.
now i have an airraid intake on the car, i modified an 00 to 04 tundra airraid to fit the car(i had to buy a tundra air flow meter and re-pin it to send the right signals to the ecu) . it made it louder at full throttle, it feels faster but at this point i dont have another dyno number.

So it say $ 500 for the headers + shipping and sales tax, then install costs about $200 ..... for 20 more ponies ?
