Default I was just wondering how many of you guys know..

I was at my friends shop the other day while he had an LS430 engine apart and i noticed that you NEED to REMOVE ENTIRE intake MANIFOLD to replace the started... Im not too thriled about that idea (i had to replace a starter on most of my cars before)

=(

The UZ-family has always had the starter under the intake manifold since it first debuted in 1990. The starter does not go out enough to worry about it.

Yeah I heard this from a few people who have done a R&R job on a starter, is like a 6 hours job.

From my observation, they tend to go bad around 150k~180k miles.

This is why I minimize the use of my starter, I don't turn off the engine unless I plan to stop for longer then 5 minutes.
