Default Winter rims

Hey everyone, new to lexus' and just picked up an 05 ls430. Winter is already coming up and i plan to get some winter tires but i dont want to beat up my stock rims or buy new rims. Is there a small list of cars rims that fit the ls430. So far from my understanding the ls400 1995 and up fit. Anyone else have any more, doesnt even have to be lexus. Thanks

Welcome! Most folks use 17" wheels although supposedly LS 16" wheels will also work. If you have 17" painted, non-chrome stock wheels you may also consider having winter tires mounted on those wheels and buying new summer wheels in the spring.

I have 18" chrome wheels for summer and 2001 17" painted wheels for winter. I hope to snap some pics of the winter wheels today.

Take a look on Craigslist. I found an OEM (used) set of 17's for $300. Just had Dunlop wintersport 3d's mounted on them and installed this week.

Your local tire shop will have access to aftermarket rim suppliers. Call them up or visit their locations and they can show you which rims will fit your car.

I used CL to find mine - indirectly. My target wheels were 04-06 17" painted. I would accept 01-03 painted. I wanted to spend less than $500 for 4 wheels. One listing had 4 04-06 wheels for about $450. When I called, the location was an extended stay hotel located at an interstate exit in a Detroit suburb. There were a number of crimes at locations like this around Detroit this summer so my internal alarm rang with this situation. I did not go look at them.

Another CL ad listed 4 18" chrome wheels with original Dunlop tires from an 01 LS. I decided to go look at them figuring they might match my current chrome wheels and I could use the best 4 during the summer and the other 4 in the winter. At least this guy lived in a subdivision. He had a very nice mercury / ecru UL with under 50K miles. Unfortunately, the wheels were aftermarket and not my taste. Then he mentioned that he had the original 17" painted wheels in the basement, boxed with no tires, that he had removed shortly after he bought the car. Bingo!

I am sure there are many 17 "wheels, 5 X 114.3, 17 X 7.5 with a 45 offset, I'd like to know what they are too!

The 17 inch Acura TL wheels have the correct bolt pattern width and offset ( not sure about the center bore) ... and they are nice thick 5 spokes, Thats what I am going to look at.
