Default Exterior mirror

I am still (after 3 years) awed by my Lexus Ultimate I feel so cosseted driving it around that I feel like a traitor even bringing this up. But that's why I'm here, recently I have found that my driver door exterior mirror seems to be sticking. I use the auto mirror parking mode and on re-entry after a day or so I find this mirror does not extend. The other one is fine and when I select manual mode the drivers mirror will extend immediately. What could cause it to stick in auto mode. Of course if I don't solve this it won't end my love affair with my LS430.......

Mines don't fold in sometimes I just keep manually pressing the switch till it closes all the way. You should try it but vise versa since yours don't extend. Motor probably is going up in drivers side mirror.

Thanx....it's just kinda odd that this one mirror sticks in the closed position on first start after maybe a day of no use; and yet when I activate it manually it unfolds without hesitation?

Oh! A Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there & thanks for the help along the way.....

I've has success applying WD-40 or similar lubricant to the joint under the mirror. Try that and then see if that improves the operation. Worked like a charm until a few heavy rains washed away the spray.

Seems like my problem stemmed from a dying battery, when I checked it with a volt meter it read 12.23v. Picked up a new unit at Walmarts, they are highly recommended by Consumer Reports. Now my mirrors work fine and my starter motor rips....
