Default Is The Dealer Trying to Rip me Off?

I took my 03 LS430 into the dealership after getting a P0430 fail code. It reset after a few drive cycles but returned. So I took it in. My check engine light is on and my VSC light. I haven't noticed any difference in gas mileage. While they were running diagnostics they figured I needed a pass CAT converter Y pipe and passenger side air fuel sensors and pass 02 sensors est $3800. Here's another do I have to replace my manifold to replace my converter.

Do you have an exhaust leak?
My 02' had an exhaust leak (minor but you could hear it). About a week later the check engine light came on, P0430 code. Lexus wanted $1100-$1200 to fix... I took the car to a local muffler shop and they fixed the leak for $200. No more engine light

Im betting you have the infamous exhaust leak on that side. Take it to an exhaust shop and I bet your "bad sensors" problem goes away with it. Ohhh yeah, and find a new repair shop... $3800?!?!

Hahaha.

I think there should be a sticky that says: Dealer = rip off.

Same problem 2002 LS430 just picked it up from Dealer Friday dealer had a new section of pipe put in (Lexus Dealer).

Seems to happen to bank#2 more often take it to a good muffler shop if Dealer won't help.

Word. Yes. The dealer is always trying to rip you off. They will convince you to buy parts from them and have them installed on your car until you either run out of money, figure them out and go somewhere else , or lose your sanity and swerve into oncoming traffic on your trip home from the dealer one day.
