I was sitting in my 2005 LS-430 with the key ON, talking to a friend on Bluetooth while my wife was inside grabbing a couple things. When she came out and got into the car, I turned the key to start and it spun like a top, but would not fire off at all. Engine was spinning high RPM but no fire. After about three attempts, it started. When I got home, I killed it, and it started fine.

Any suggestions on what may have happened ?

It sounds like it was flooded after the fuel pressure came up and the engine didn't get started right away.

Thanks for the response. I have given that some thought, but I am wondering if the way my wife exited the vehicle and me turning the "Smart Key" just to the "ON" or "ACC" position, it may have confused the "Theft Deterrent System", or "Engine Immobilizer". Also, my wife has a new Lexus with a Smart Key and it was in her purse inside the car, which the Owner's Manual recommends to NOT do. I guess I'll get some information tomorrow, but Also, I cannot find any explanation about the red and green Security lights, or "KEY" that flash on the dash. I have not figured out the pattern, as it's past my bed time, but the green and red are flashing alterating except when I lock the car, and the red light is just on, not blinking either.

Any more ideas, I'm all ears. Thanks folks for being there.
