Hello Everybody, I just purchased a 2003 Lexus LS430, and the sound quality doesn't seem to be right. The rear sub-woofer releases the boom, but doesn't release any sound. I'm not sure if that is how it's supposed to be, or if something is wrong with the speaker. If anybody has an answer, please let me know.

Thank you guys for the help. It just seemed to me that it wasn't giving enough sound in the car, compared to my brothers 1999 Lexus LS400. Maybe the sound systems are different.

take it to an audio shop and let them listen and advise- dont let them touch it until you get back here and let us know what they say. I think you have 18 other speakers that should make lots of sound LOL. I think I heard someone say the sub sounded weak because the trunk is so well insulated? I dunno because my car has the base stereo.

The factory sub will put out enough bass for most people at normal volumes. If you're a boomer who is used to having twin 15's in your car, you're going to be drastically underwhelmed, but coming from a normal 4 or 6 speaker factory setup in another car,I'm sure you'd be more than happy.
Check the audio settings on the head unit. It's possible that the rear speakers have been faded right out.

Look for a fader control. if that's adjusted all the way to the front, that would explain why there's no full range sound coming from the rear, and all you can hear is bass.

if you cant figure it out there should be a manual for the radio. read through that and it will tell you where to find the settings. it should be fairly simple.
lol i have a feeling ur not used to hearing bass
play with the settings and get it how you like.
good luck
