Considered getting this beast over the LS430

Few and far apart
I see plenty of 80's Camrys too. I even see a few crappy Chrysler K-cars hanging around but those are the golden hair in a haystack.
Like someone said, you only live once... if you need it and can afford it, go for it. You'll never know until you try it.

It is nice when you can get a premium engineerd car for 20 cents on the dollar. I worry about buyers remorse and just anything gets old after a while when the novelty of the great deal wears off as the bills start piling up. Yes the styling is timeless compared tot he LS.
It can be tough living in a world of temptations though when you see such a beautiful car!!

Go for it and if you could, definitely get the extended warranty. The ABC on the car will go at some point and the cost of fixing it can be staggering! It will cost you a lot more to keep than a LS430 for sure but it is totally worth it. If you don't need big back seats, you might consider the W215 as well (CL class) which I have one. Despite the fact that my CL55 cost a lot more to maintain than my LS430, the AMG is clearly a winner.
For the W220 or W215 55 AMG, get the 05' or 06' if you could. If you want speed, consider the 600's (V12) which cost the same as the 55's (might be even cheaper). The 600s are faster than 55s but do not look as sporty as the 55s. Here is one pic of my CL55.
Note:
The rotors on the 55 AMG do not cost $900. Only the 65's AMG rotors cost that much, the 55's are cheaper. (The 65 brakes are bigger than the 55)

I definitely agree. The facelift W221s are going to be on a high priority list for me in the far future (say 10 yrs or so down the road?). Btw, that CL65 you have is so sick!!! Love the custom rims too. Got anymore pics of that beast?

Wow forgot about the CL. That is Gorgeous!! That's as big as the LS430. That would be a TOY I'd consider over the S55.
I probably wouldn't be able to convince the Mrs that I need either of those vehicles since we have house projects to complete. I did convince her that we need an "SUV" for moving things for the house. Here's one I'm looking for. Just need to find one with the right price. They seem to be rare.
She'd have no clue .

the S55 is 500 lbs. lighter than the 04-06 LS430's - and has a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds - under the right conditions of course. a little more thirsty in the MPG's dept though for sure. would definately be a very fun occasional Sunday drive. I have worked on Mercedes before and I have to say that conventional DIY tools do not fit these cars. however I LOOOVE Mercedes TEX synthetic leather - must be made with the same chemical proccess as Twinkies - it will last forever.

Do it!! I would definitely take an AMG, before I bought my IS350 I was looking for a C55 but at that time there wasn't any in decent condition within my price range.

Lots of pics but the site only let me upload like 2 of them. Kept say "failed to load ..."
Note that AMG also means "All your Money is Gone". It sucks on gas but it took like only 4 seconds to go from 75 to 120 mph.
Check out the gas mileage if driving locally.

That would be sweet! Have you also thought about the Trailblazer SS? There's a kid at my school with one of these SRT8s as a second car. I know b/c he's got a yellow vette license plate ALAIN that parks in my structure and a silver SRT8 plate ALAIN 2.

The Trailblazer, Meh... too slow and not as sporty. The 425hp 6.1 Srt8 Grand Cherokee does 0 to 60 in under 5 seconds, STOCK!
I had a GMC Typhoon back in the day. I think the Cherokee would be just as fun. I am not an aggressive driver at all and don't drive fast but I like having that extra powa!
So I'd consider it depending on the trade value of my LS 430 that I own outright.
