If you are talking about the full mirror housing swinging out to far when the car is started, I had that problem on my passenger side. (04LS430).
After several starts, it would actually swing all the way around to the front. I was able to use the switch to readjust (ie, swing them in then allow them to go back out), but eventually it would go too far.
There are numerous posts on this issue...here is what I ended up doing.
With the mirror housing where I wanted it (took several tries), I disassembled the mirror (removed mirror glass and front mirror housing) and snipped one of the wires going to the motor that swings the mirror in and out. The mirror can still be manually moved, but at least I decide when to do it, not the car.
There is probably a better fix to the actual problem, but I am fine with the way I have it now.

Welcome! The mirrors are a known trouble point so I disabled the auto swing feature by leaving the position switch (to the right of the normal mirror control) in the left, extended, position. I set the switch to the right position when taking the car through a carwash (gasp). I never leave the switch in the center, auto, position.

I did that also and thought it worked, but apparently every time the car is started, a signal is sent to the mirrors (even with switch in off) to swing them out.
If the detent (or whatever snaps/holds them in position) is tight, like my drivers side mirror is, it just stays there. But on mine, each time I started the car I could see the mirror "bump" out just a little, and eventually swing all the way out. I had to defeat the motor totally since the switch (in off) still allowed it to swing out.
