My 1st post!!! Need help with wheelz for 2001 Ls430
Hey everyone-
I'm brand new to this site, and blown away by all the people and great input here. I have owned my 2001 Black LS430 for a few years now and love it to death. However, I've finally come across my 1st problem and thought i'd ask around.
I have 17" factory Lexus Chrome wheels with a nice set of Bridgestone's on my car, and have recently started having numerous flats. I have since discovered that the Chrome is deteriating on the wheels (read other threads that apparently this is commonplace) and so i need to buy new wheels for my car.
I tried to buy some new ones that our local tire store recommended (dont remember the brand exactly), but they tried to put them on and said that the break calipers made the wheels not fit properly and that i needed to go find a 17" wheel with a small offset (32-35) to make them work. I was wondering if anyone else has found this to be true and if so, what options you all have chosen for your rides? I am 38 years old, so i dont want to necessarily "pimp my ride", but I do want something nice. Any help (and pics) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

if you want to stay conservative you could go with the factory 18" wheels offered in '04 and up. I think they are the best looking of the factory wheels on the LS. Of course then you can't use your current tires, so that might be a consideration. If you don't need the look of aftermarket another option is to find a used set of 17's, they pop up in the classified forums from time to time as well as ebay and craigslist.
Here's mine on the factory non-chrome 18's:

Welcome. Some folks have had good luck with OE Wheels.
