Default 2004-2006 Interior Pics / Photos Please...

Newbie here so going through the archives but figure I'd post as well.

Contemplating moving up from my current 2001 to a 2004-2006.

For those that made the move from an '01 what were your key considerations?

In the meantime for current 2004-2006 owners can you post some interior photos please?

Thanks,
James

I believe the general consensus is keep the 01. There aren't too many differences (6 spd vs 5 spd auto, facelifted look, smartkey) and the car drives the same according to other members who have tried it. But just to answer a question, here are a few interior shots. Should be nearly identical to yours, apart from the shifter gate and color of the instrument needle. I should note that mine is modern luxury black leather (those who have CL or UL will have more leather). Also included are a few exterior shots from when the weather was nice a few months ago

Look on Ebay or Auto trader for pics. The interior is nearly 100% identical to an 01. I thought about going from an 01 to an 04 a few months back. After test driving one I came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth it. It drove exactly the same, didn't feel faster. The nav unit isn't dramatically better. My 01 has sport 18" wheels, updated clear strip, JDM taillight and roof spoiler and is in show room condition. When parked side by side to the 2004 I was convinced it was NOT an upgrade.

Thank you so much for the quick response fellow Michigander! Your interior looks clean enough to eat from. Your comments noted.

Welcome other photos

Cheers,
James

I don't know of any interior differences aside from more/different leather and wood choices in 01-03 cars. I test drove an 03 and found minimal driving difference with the 5 v. 6 speed. The only obvious differences are exterior styling, and most normal folks hardly notice.

BTW, my interior looks just like CarGuy's, but with more black leather.

I have the Custom Luxury option package in my 2006, so a large number cows gave up their life for this sumptous semi-aniline leather interior!

Well, the 01-03 CL and UL did come with the greywood that the 04-06 did not

It also had the voice recorder in the sunglass area that the 04-06 didn't have either

Yeah the greywood looked sweet! Idk why they didn't carry it over. It had a voice recorder too?? I did not know that. I do know that the spot for the recorder was probably replaced for the mic used for bluetooth conversation and voice commands.

There's a ton of good pictures on the for sale ads at EBay motors. That's how I figured out the various models with buttons and options before I got mine..

Main differences between models are the transmission and AFS headlights. The rest is little features and cosmetic stuff.

I'd be interested to see if anyone's done any real world back to back fuel consumption testing between the zenkis and the koukis. I would expect the koukis to be noticeably better on the freeway, and pretty similar everywhere else.

I paid the $20k AUD premium for a kouki because I wanted lower km on the clock, the adaptive headlights and the 6spd box. I'm not disappointed, but if I already had a zenki,I doubt I'd have considered switching, unless the zenki was written off in an accident or similar and needed to be replaced.
