Trunk Lid Slams
How hard is it to replace the things that help to lift and hold up the trunk lid on a 2002 LS430? The lid weighs a ton and its a little tuff too lift up without mechanical assistance. I've also been very lucky to have not been knocked out by it. Are replacements pricey?

Yes bad struts are a serious hazard on this car IMO, not to be taken lightly. You can get smacked pretty good. Mine were changed under CPO when I casually mentioned it to the dealer and the new ones are hugely safer.
If the lid has any tendency to come down on its own when more than 1/4 or so open it's time to change them.
