My LS replaced a 1998 Accord EX V6 that I hated for various reasons, so no way I regret getting the LS. Loved LS since it's inception and was always dream car, so dream come true for me.

All cars I've gotten rid of, it was time to go... except for '92 Integra GSR I recently gave up, that hurt. but was not willing to keep putting in $100 here, $100 there to fix minor things and try to maintain four vehicles.

Love your 99 LS. Look clean but sick! I'm looking for one right now too

You know, home ownership is not so hard now that I've settled in. So reliability of a vehicle is still important but not as much as before.
I have a nice beater Camry that I drive 85% of the time and the LS is my nice weather drive, so it's sort of my toy.

I've ALWAYS had a yearn for a BMW 540, the best midsize sport sedan of it era. I've had my eye on a last final year 2003 with Sport package, automatic. If I could row i'd consider the M5, then again I just want to cruise so an auto would be ideal. Typically the final year production is most best to own as far as reliability.

I'd get Silver on Black. It's rare that I think the "old" model vehicle looks better than the current. This looks hold up well even today! Almost seems ageless like several Porsche models. I'd consider trading the LS if it's a near even swap. This would be so amazing parked in my garage bay

JLAWS: I actually had my eye on the 2003 540i sport with a 6 speed manual after I found out my E34 was getting clunked. I love the E39 styling and the sport pkg looks so clean!

I do miss my previous cars at times. In the year before I picked up my LS430, I swapped between 5 different cars,a '99 RS Four Stagea,a zenki S14 200sx,an Ek1 Civic,a 2009 yaris, and an '07 Corolla. yeah,I had a lot going on...

I miss the practicality of the stagea, the handling and power of the S14,and the fuel consumption of the hatchbacks.
The LS430 is the most comfortable, the smoothest, and the cleanest loooking car I've owned out of the 20 or so I've had to date. If it went as good as it looks I'd be beside myself with joy.
Hopefully I can get my AE86 project finished sometime soon and maybe then the performance pangs will susbside.

I purchased new and still have my 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe but needed something comfortable to haul my customers around (realtor). I knew I would miss the G if I sold it so decided to keep it as an occasional driver. Glad I did. Now I have the best of both worlds.... The LS for the soft cushy ride and the G for more precise handling and spirited driving.

^^^ Win all 'round. V35/V36 skyline coupes are nice cars. We have a few floating around here that were brought in as grey imports. Nissan Australia feels that a maxima is as good a sedan as we deserve...and if you want a coupe,it's the Z or nothing.

I sold a 86 4runner, 00 honda crv 2wd, and 01 honda prelude SH. The prelude was fun to drive. Visibility wasn't good, acceleration wasn't great, but steering/cornering made it fun. It was reliable car (no problems in the 8 yrs I had it). The 4runner w/ 2.4L 4-cyl was a workhorse, only failed me once when the brushes in the alternator wore out after 21 years, causing the alternator to fail. Maintenance was increasing due to old rubber parts becoming hard, etc., plus fuel economy wasn't good (age, lift w/ big tires, etc.), and it had poor power above 6000 ft. The least favorite of the three cars was the crv. I didn't like the ergonomics (column shifter, no center hump up front, meaning things on the floor would roll across to the driver's side). Also, you couldn't park on a steep downhill even w/ ebrake tight, as the car would slightly move when you got out and lock up the tranny. The only solution is to chock the rear wheels and jack up the front of the car until the front tires unwind. I believe this is a design flaw in the transmission, not a manufacturing defect. Also, the seats were hard as a rock, plus too much torque and brake pressure on the front wheels, causing them to spin when accelerating if the road was wet (even on flat ground). Nothing broke, though. Of the three cars, the only one I would buy again is a 4runner (not a prelude since it was cramped). If my LS was totalled tomorrow, I'd get a used 06-07 GX mainly because I will be moving to the mountains in a few months, and it snows there. Otherwise, I plan to run a set of snow tires next winter.

As my signature shows, I'm now down to 2 cars, a LX and LS. Both are excellent cars, albeit I think the LX (aka, rebadged Toyota landcruiser) is more reliable. The only thing that has gone wrong was the steering VGRS ecu needed updating when we but the car (covered by CPO, $700). On the LS, the front blower failed ($550), then the radar ecu had to be replaced due to a bug in the software from being the first year is was introduced ($800), then two front parking sensors failed ($550), all under warranty. If stuff like this continues to fail, I'll have to get rid of the car after the warranty expires in 2015.
