Default Trunk struts for LS Ultra

I have noticed that my trunk is beginning to fall and is harder to open. I have seen the threads for replacing the pistons that support the lid but they apply to the regular LS. I think the Ultra has a different config. Does anyone know where I can economically find replacements and has anyone covered the replacement technique?

I don't believe there is any difference in the struts between UL and non-UL. The Sewell parts page lists only one part number. Here's a thread about some aftermarket struts.

Probably cheaper on eBay. I paid under $50 for 2 on eBay. Works as good as any of them.

My experience in struts is that most all of them provide similar performance when new. The issue then becomes one of quality and how long they will last. I purchased cheap one for my SC400 and they only lasted for a year. Generally you sort of get what you pay for.

I agree 100%, I bought cheap ones before for and LS430 that I used to own and they were fine when new but as time goes by they start getting weaker. They did not last even for a year before I had to hold the trunk lid by hand and I knew that if I waited longer that the trunk will start falling so I bought new genuine Toyota ones from Sewell Lexus and I'm happy I did as they lasted more than 3 years and sold the car with them functioning as they should so last month when I needed new ones for the LS430 that I have now, without hesitation, I bought the genuine ones for Sewell Lexus again.
