Chrome wheels can be another issue with the TPMS. The chrome was coming off the wheels on my 04 when I bought it last year and every one of the tires would randomly lose pressure, which would activate the TPMS. The system was working properly but the TPMS would indicate "low tire" every few days. The solution was new wheels.

Sounds to me like the TPMS worked just as it should have for you. The issue isnt chrome wheels causing a problem with TPMS, the problem was your chrome wheels were leaking air and your TPMS system was letting you know. Thats what its designed to do.

That view should be counter clockwise 90 degrees... this makes it seem like it's again the center console, which it's not.

You'll see it once you get low low low...
