Default factory air suspension replace/upgrade with aftermarket?

Looking to purchase an 01 LS430 UL with 160k miles in CA. Love all the options it comes with but worried about the air suspension.

Since the factory air suspension is probably on its last leg, would it be a hassel to replace/upgrade with aftermarket parts? (bag/shock, compressor, tank, etc)

please no bashing on factory air suspension, etc.

Just trying to see what my options are than switching to a coilover system.

If/when my factory air does go bad I plan on upgrading to aftermarket air. Either Airrunner or UAS. For what the factory bags cost to replace you are better off going aftermarket.

do you/would you replace the entire system? (including all the hoses) or just what's broken? thanks for the reply!

It would end up being the entire system.

imo if your bags go out you should just opt for aftermarket bags =)

That's exactly what I was thinking. just curious to see if anyone has done factory tank/compressor with aftermarket bag/shock set up.

but seems like it probably better just to switch out the entire system (new tank/compressor/hoses etc etc).

The stock setup does not have a tank. Its just a little compressor that runs the system. Thats why the system is so slow to adjust.

I love my stock air but recently, its been a pain. It would rise on its own and I don't even drive low. When I come to a stop and look in the rear, the rear of my car is jacked up really high. So i decided to just swap out the air and do coilovers for now since I'm moving back to hawaii next year. Once I'm back home, gonna do all aftermarket air.

If your not going to drive low and stay somewhat stock, i would just replace the parts that break.

If i read the write up, this is for an aftermarket system that uses UAS bags. They are making the brackets (and can sell the kit) but basically this has nothing to do with our stock setup.

Hmm it seems odd to me they cant work together air is air right? if you could adapt the fittings to fit unless the UAS bag need alot more pressure then stock bags..

I assume the spring rate (for lack of a better word) would change with height?
