I believe the Lexus "L" and the LS430 emblems are just double sided tape on. The "Lexus" emblem I think is double sided tape and a couple of tabs. You need to fill those holes after you pull that emblem or its going to leak.

All three emblems have alignment holes. It's not just remove and done. To remove, use a finishing line, go behind, and slowly pull the emblem off. The emblem will probably break at the thin areas, unless you're really careful.

Fill holes with solder or any kind of epoxy, smooth out, but then you have to paint whole trunk to get an even coat. Unless you don't mind touch up paint and having six off color covered holes.

alexusanja is right all three logo's have pins. you can also use a blow dryer to soften the tape and some fishing string. do a sawing motion with the string to get the tape out.

I hear people use dental floss as well. Blowdryer is recommended (as previously said) to soften the glue. I've never done it personally so I can't say much more than that. I do kinda want to get rid of the word 'Lexus' on the left side of the trunk as there's already a Lexus logo in the middle. Would look cleaner IMO.

I was planning to remove the outer pair, and change the 'L' for a toyota 'T'. Don't think I'll bother now, unless I get the full set of celsior badges.

If youre going to go through the effort of filling the holes in, you might as well just shave all the emblems

Yep. Except, instead of blowdryer, i let the sun bake the emblems for an hour before i proceed. Oh and great minds think alike

Indeed they do. Looks great btw, very clean!. It's not like anyone really needs to see what model this is (most people probably don't care anyway) and all the enthusiasts already know.

i say, why not. The other option is to buy some cheap ones of eBay. Save yourself some money and buy a rattle can and paint the one's you have. $5.00 mod.

Plastidip is a great idea b/c it's fully removable and looks pretty good (achieves the flat black look you're after).

Thanks fellas, I know I will need a flat head and a heat gun to remove the emblem, but what glue would I use to put the emblem back on?

Could anyone link me to a write-up for the emblem painting for resource? Thanks!

Just leave the emblems on the car and mask off the surrounding area. It's been done like that on the IS forum with no problems. The overspray just peels off the paint.
