Default Did they make Sport Suspension with 17"s?

I'm still hunting for my 2004-2005 LS430 and I found one that has 17" wheels, but I think I see the Sport Suspension emblem on the front sides.

Possible?

May very well have the suspension, but owner just preferred the 17s ride to the 18s and swapped them out.

Yep - car was owner by the Lexus dealer, then sold...new owner wanted a smoother ride, so he took off the 18" and put on 17".

So I put down a deposit today on it. 2004 LS430, Modern Lux, with Sport package. Really wish I could have had the 18", but at least it has the sport package and it was in my price range. I can always swap out wheels later.

True, but unlikely. Added sport badges much more likely.

Called Lexus with the VIN - it's a Sport package and the new owner wanted 17's.

Thanks everyone!

There's a very small chance the dealer has the original 18"s somewhere, and if so, I'm hoping to pay a bit more and get those.

Having an independent mechanic check it out Monday before I fly up and get it. Anything you guys would recommend he check out? 105k miles.

It's recommended that timing belt (and water pump while you're in there) be changed at 90k mi. Ask the dealer if they have any records (and look online at the Lexus service history). Don't worry if it hasn't been changed. However, you'll want to replace these items soon if the work hasn't been done yet. Other than that, if your mechanic gives you the green light and everything runs extra smooth and quiet, you're good to go! Enjoy the new ride!

What's interesting is that the dealer says the timing belt wasn't changed. However, they sent me the service records for this car, and it says the 90k service was done along with a couple other things, and the charge was $1400. It did not specifically list the timing belt or water pump - so I really have no way of knowing, aside from a mechanic getting in there and checking.

If you know the dealership, they should be able to pull up or find the invoice which will list the parts replaced. Look for the TB. For $1400, I would think the belt was changed.

$1400 doesn't really get you much at the dealership. I would think that $1400 would be JUST the TB and water pump, if done. $1400 could be oil change, transmission drain and fill, air filters, diff. fluid, and spark plugs. Try to get a definitive on what was done, not just based on price paid.

Also, on original question, the 18" were a mandatory added $200 to the Sport Suspension package. Nice deal if you ask me... $200 to go from 17" to 18".
