Maintence light....
So fellas. I'm in need of your expertise. I've got this annoying maintence light on the car. However everything works flawlessly. I did a lil digging and if im right which im not 100% sure i am it seems that the car is due for its 65k checkup....which im now late for....pushing 66k. So in any event. At first i thought against my better judgement and thought about taking it to the STEALERSHIP..but then i came to my senses.
Here's what i'd like. I can get rid of the light but if i could get my hands on a list of some sort of what would be done at the dealer during this checkup. I'd then take this list to my guy and let him go to town. Anybody have such a list??
Whaddya think??

Maintenance Light
You can find all maintenance schedules at http://www.mylexus.com You will need to register to join that site. If you have same experience I have had, you will notice a big difference between what Lexus says needs to be done and what your dealer will want to do. Good Luck.

Unless you get a check engine light, the maintenace required light on the LS is a dummy light that comes on every 5K or so. Doesn't do much, just to remind you that you've gone about 5K since your last "maintenance" or resetting of the light. My maintenance and oil change intervals are off, that each time the light comes on, I just reset it.
Just follow the service schedule, it's more important than the dummy light.
