Hi. I just purchased a 2001 LS430 (with Ultimate Luxury Pkg!) and really enjoying the comfort and drive! I just discovered there is no front plate bracket. In CA we're required to have a front plate. I called the dealer where the car was originally sold and they won't do any courtesy help and want $55 for the bracket. Just had to buy four tires ($850), a new battery ($110) and now the back subwoofer is buzzing and will cost $175 to replace so I'm a little unhappy about spending on a required bracket!

Anyone seen these available on the internet or have one they don't use? My car is silver (apparently these models have color-matched brackets). After also putting in new mats ($135) I'm hoping to just start driving and enjoying without spending

a bit on the "low tech" side, but you can always use zipties and attach it to the lower grill. keep your front bumper clean without drilling/screwing in holes

$175 to replace the woofer from the dealer? That is quite a deal I think! Still sucks they won't hook you up. I would try and find a solution which would prevent you drilling the front bumper. I'm from a lucky state that does not require a front plate so I won't be much help unfortunately.

the dealer wanted way more than $175 for the sub woofer! This price is from a quality independent audio place.
I can find a non-matching bracket for $10 but hey, it's a Lexus flagship car! Too bad the dealer service mgr didn't want to help me and earn my business.

I see. Are you getting the speaker reconditioned or are you getting an aftermarket unit?

I shouldn't even post this but in Wisco a front plate is law but 3 years almost and 85k never pulled over yet. Pretty lucky just do not want to drill the front bumper.

Here in Texas a front plate is required but I routinely see probably 10-20% of cars with no front plate driving around. So in Texas, it seems likely the po-po won't stop you just for no front plate most of the time, but if you do get stopped for something else you most likely are getting 2 tickets.
