Default Gas milage after changing O2 Sensors

Ok, I just had to change these, and my gas milage is running about 1.5 - 1.8 mpg LESS than before (after 3 months). The local dealer says, "the set up is correct, and there is NOTHING we can do".

Obviously the engine is running "richer" than previously. This vehicle has 105,000 miles and is still running fine. It's a 2006 LS 430. I love this machine.

I fly general aviation piston aircraft, so I understand "mixture" thoroughly, and I think these "new" sensors are defective.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Maybe the old sensors were defective and you were running lean before.

Why did you change the sensors anyways?

Ohh yeah you're in the wrong forum. There is an LS430 forum.

Oh yes, the engine has 105,000 miles and looks great. It was not running "lean" before. If it was, we all should run that way.

We do that...run Lean of Peak..with piston aircraft.

Try cleaning the MAF and throttle body, unplug battery for 5 minutes (or all day if you want to be really sure), and then your ECU will relearn some fuel mapping and throttle characteristics.

OK,

Thanks. I'll give that a try. Any chance the pre/post O2 sensors are defective?
