I have read the detail forums also. After 35 years washing cars, I just learned that I was doing it "wrong" - using 1 bucket and a sponge. Now I have converted to using two 5 gallon buckets (one for rinse water, one for soapy water), a micro fiber wash towel, and a foam gun to foam and rinse the car first. Takes a little longer but hopefully less paint scratches and swirls with the new method. Always something new to learn...and always folks debating on how to do it best...
