Default Considering Used LS430

Hi everyone! I have been hunting for a decent ls400 but haven't had much luck. I started looking at 430s and I found an 02 with 110k miles in mint condition, all the maintenance done for 11k. Is this a good deal? Anything I should be concerned about? This is on the high end of my budget but I want to get something that will last.
Thanks!

110k, mint, all maintenance done for 11k? Sounds like a good deal to me, but beware the things only gonna be good for say another 300K miles .

02 even with 100K, if you say it's mint for $11K, it's probably not the UL package right? If so, then if it was kept up well and timing belt and maintenance done up to 100K, not too much problems to come. The UL air, if you had it, is probably just waiting to break within next 50k, and they're like $2K a pop to fix each.

The only other thing to be concerned about is that after driving the LS, if you like the ride, you'll never go back to anything else....

Smile Most LS430s are Excelent

I've had a number of LS400s and LS430s and if the previous owner(s) have
properly maintained them they are outstanding vehicles. Here are a few of the
more common issues with LS430s: 1. Noise in steering column when retracting
2. Starters that need replacing (expensive due to location) 3. Moisture in headlight housing after washing 4. Front suspension noise. I've been down the
Mercedes, BMW, Acura and Buick highways but have found Lexus to be the most
comfortable, reliable and best-made vehicles in the marketplace.

11 grand for an original, non paint work 02 (regardless of trim level) with records sounds like a good deal. As long as the timing belt/water pump has been changed, you should be good to go.

Thanks! I think I am gonna go for it! I hope it works out, I've gone after 3 cars already and they've all been sold out from under me!

The clean lower priced LS430s are the first to go due to affordability. Don't drag your feet if you think it's a good deal!

Go for it! The LS430 is a very comfortable, reliable vehicle with plenty of power. If the LS430 that you are looking at happens to be equipped with the Ultra Luxury package, then it has the air suspension. Beware that when the air suspension goes out, it can be a costly repair. Another thing to look out for is to make sure that the radar cruise control is in working order. It can cost $1k to fix the radar cruise control system. Other than that, the LS430 is a very reliable vehicle, so it's a good bet.

Thanks everyone. I think I am gonna pick up the 02 tomorrow. I just test drove an 03 with 133k miles for 11500. It's nice, but the service history is sketchy. I am tempted because it has cooled seats and perforated leather that is super soft. Thoughts??

I would stick with the 02 and pass on the 03 unless it's the exact exterior and interior color combination that you want.

I'd say stick with the 02 LS430. Cooled seats are a great thing to have here in Arizona, but I don't think that you should get the 03 just because it has perforated seats that are heated and cooled. Stick with the 02.

Let us know if you get the 02. Don't move to slow on it.

I am working on it! I have all the paper work done and my bank is sending the sellers bank the money tomorrow morning. After days of work now the seller is saying he won't let the car go until the check clears. It could be days and I am out of town for a week on Friday, and he will have the car I paid for. Frustrating!
