Default Factory chrome rims

What are people's thoughts on these? Was looking at an 05 LS that had these and it looked decent in the pictures but I saw one at lunch today on the road and it didn't look so good. The ad lists them a factory chrome dipped wheels. I'm finding it very hard to find a car with < 60k miles for $22k. I had this one down to $21.5, but then the miles scared me.

Was just looking for opinions on how the chrome rims look on the LS430. I guess I had too many thoughts in my head! Do the chrome rims look a little too loud?

That's exactly what my car looks like. Avoid the chrome as mine is starting to peel/degrade near the tire beads which causes air leaks. Polished is a better bet, or even better find one with the factory 18 five spoke.

I suspect that factory OEM chrome wheels are of high quality. But, it is not uncommon for dealers to have wheels chrome plated and sold on the car. Then then there are after market wheels also. You never know what quality you will get with those. I don't know how you tell the difference between factory chrome versus being plated later if you are buying a used car.

I think the LS looks very good with chrome wheels. I have also read that they sometimes deteriorate (peeling and pitting) in harsh Northern climates.

It's all personal taste. I don't really like the chromes much, would much rather go with the standard non-chromes. That said, if everything else on the car is exactly what you were looking for, then go ahead with the deal. Rims can be swapped out relatively cheaply so don't worry too much if you end up disliking the chromes.

When I was shopping around, OEM 18s non-chromes were a must have for me. However, when I saw my current car, it was just too good a deal to pass up (has the OEM 17s non-chrome) and I went for it. Couldn't be happier b/c I got the same car in a better color combo, with half the miles, and CPO for about $1k less.

I have OEM chrome wheels on my car and love them. No problems in over 10 years.

I always thought chrome stock wheels looked great on the LS. My neighbor has them on their LS430 and it looks really good.

The chrome rims on the LS430 are beautiful, in my opinion, especially on an LS with black exterior. They're very elegant and classy without looking gaudy. Our LS is nine years old, and the chrome rims look perfect, so they must be durable. Here's an image:

We like ours as well, especially when they're clean and shiny!

I wouldn't have anything other than the OEM chrome rims on my silver metallic UL.
