I saw this document:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/5363646-post5.html
and decided i was gonna pull the gauge cluster to polish the scratches off of the plastic. I had great success removing all the scratches from my center console by pulling it and machine polishing.
In that PDF it shows taking off the bezels for the brightness control and the lights for the smartkey system on either side of the cluster...which i did. Then you unscrew the two clips on the top part of the cluster surround which i also did. However when i tried to pull out the cluster surround to access the 4 screws for the gauges themselves it would not come out. Do i need to remove more of the trim pieces first? I dont want to break anything obviously. Any help is appreciated.

ok, first off, you just may want to order new gauge glass (plastic) piece, as it's only about 25usd part.
secondly -
oh wait, you still cannot remove surrounding piece ? just pull on it HARD. it will come out. There's nothing holding it apart from plastic 'bolts' (2). Start pulling from below and just pull it out.

Once i take off those two trim pieces and the 2 clips it just pulls out? I was pulling pretty hard. I had some wiggle room but it felt like something else was holding it in.

Froboy, yes you just pull it starting from BOTTOM left and right. There's locking tabs on the sides towards bottom. It should just pop out at bottom l+r, then you continue to pull and eventually it will be out.
There's not hidden screws or anything.
Also, give me your year and i'll get you part no. for the glass.

Yeap, it was bugging me first after i bought LS430, and also the shifter bezel - again, amazingly cheap part ! (the one that has PRND letters on -03's)
Was reeeeally pleased, that Lexus folks won't put rip off prices on some simple trim pieces and such - unlike the german counterparts, where this gauge cluster glass piece may be as much as like 600usd etc...
Also, making sure you have ALL lamps under ALL buttons and ***** working, is a big pleasure giver![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
BTW, FYI, you can get glass piece off the cluster WITHOUT taking it out. The plastic snaps are easily accesible by fingers after you pull the surrounding plastic piece out. I also put alot of felt tape all around there to nullify squeaks and such.
