You know you've carried detailing to the extreme when.....
you realize you've removed the gas cap to clean the threads!
This can actually happen when detailing in the garage in 115F in Phoenix.

^I always open up the gas lid and wipe down the cap and the compartment after a wash (so probably do this once every 1-2 weeks). Part of it is to prevent water from dripping down, creating annoying water streaks. The main reason is to prevent water build up in that area, thus decreasing the chance of rusting in that area. I notice a lot of cars with rusted gas lids (or in that area at least).
It's not extreme at all, just part of being an OCD owner....like me lol

I can certainly relate to this. While I don't do the wheel removal/cleaning you do, my car is constantly way cleaner than any of the dorm rooms I've lived in for the past few yrs of college. In fact, I only truly cleaned once all yr before I handed my room back to the school this yr (don't worry it's really not bad normally), whereas I've given a gratuitous amount to the local touchless wash....

Lexol conditioner comes out with a matte finish after a wipedown (not a greasy look like some of the others) . Im pretty sure that I havent stained my pants from it. Altough dark pants stain my gray leather over time thats for sure

I'm not sure what I'm going to do now that I have Belle Tire doing my wheel swaps and storing my off-season wheels and tires.
