Default Fuel Injection Service - recommended?

Has anyone done a fuel injection at the dealer or elsewhere? Is it recommended to get done? Or is it yet another way dealers make money? Would anyone recommend running a fuel system cleaner through the tank?

I'd recommend running two cans of Techron fuel system cleaner thru a couple of tanks of gas. Buy the expensive concentrate version of Techron that parts stores sell not the cheaper diluted form offered by Costco. Also run a good grade of brand name gas if possible - one with a decent additive package (google Top Tier gasoline) and you should almost never have injector problems.

Unless you are having specific problems and getting error codes from the injectors the dealer injector cleaning deal is mostly a profit maximizing program for the dealer.

I'll swing by Autozone to pick up a can of Techron and I'm planning on switching back to either Shell or Chevron gas.

+1 on the Techron. It's great stuff. Make sure you get the concentrated one. I've heard from car Gurus how effective this stuff is. I'd forget the fuel injection service as for the most part it's pure profit for doing nothing.

I've done the fuel injection cleaning and it did in fact make a difference. I'd recommend that you find a reputable place to get it done, I've also used the techron and always use premium from Shell or Chevron exclusively... It has made significant improvements for me. I've got 121K and still running strong.

i work for a dealer in service as a warranty admin, i would highly reccomend doing efi services (such as BG or anything the is a pressurized cleaner), although i have seen cases where if you have never done it at all it can mess with the throttle body.
