Minor Dealer Annoyance
I had my car in for 55k service this week which included oil change, tire rotation, inspection, check of the cabin air filter - which was still clean so they just reset the light, and a loaner RX350 for the day. (Yes, it was $150, but I can stomach that.) I normally pass on the car wash, but I forgot to tell them this time. Sure enough, they dressed the tires and again left tire spray on the chrome wheels. They looked like a dog peed on them. I washed the wheels this morning before the day got hot. I'll have to give the dealership a call next week. If this is the greatest annoyance I get from Lexus service, I really don't have anything to complain about.

my biggest annoyance was when my car was already clean (20" wheels included) and then they would give it the complimentary wash and when they returned it to me the wheels would be dripping wet and full of water marks. it was as if all they ever did to it was hose it down and then drive it around the lot a few times before they returned it to me. i used to turn down the free washes after this happened a second time.

Sounds like a reasonable price for Lexus service. Last time I brought in my own oil and filter to Lexus and had the oil change done for about $32-39 for change and inspection ...don't remember exactly.
I don;t trust dealer car wash so I tell them specifically not to wash it most of the year. But in Jan and Feb I actually breakdown and take it to Lexus for their free car wash..they do a nice job at Park Place Lexus in Grapevine - They probably wash 200-300 cars a day minimum. I have never had noticeable over spray on wheels but not sure I could tell as mine aren't chrome. I will say the Lexus dealer does an especially good job on the windows on the LS which for me are very very hard to get smudge free. I think its the anti fog coating on the interiors that makes them so smudge prone.

$150.00 sounds kinda steep to change the engine oil, rotate your tires, and give a lousy car wash. Glad I have the capability to do 'minor' services myself. As for the car wash, if I don't do it myself, I have my detailer pick up the ride and do it for me.

$150 is a lot of money. Do they use synthetic oil or something?
I hate the dealership car washes too. I brought my SC300 for some work in and it came out with a broken front emblem. I always tell them to not wash it, but I forgot that time. It always comes out with water spots and scratches.
