You could have a bad coil wire.

Was driving to my friends house and out of nowhere the check engine/vsc/warning lights came on. I know there are a ton of threads on these lights coming on but this is what went wrong with mine so I thought I'd share it with you.

The engine idled rough and the acceleration was rough. The car did not maintain speed. Cruise control would not work either. IF you open the hood, the engine will be shaking (more than normal)

Ended up being the #7 cylinder coil wire.

UPDATE: Have staggered 20" wheels on my car..service guy calls me.. tells me they have to put stock wheels on to align the car..an extra hour of labor to do that = $130. I think ill do that for free myself this weekend.

Diagnostic, new coil wire, 1.7 hours of labor = $258 @ Germain Lexus of Naples (always do good work)

Thanks for the tip. I assume this happened to the 2001 LS with 129k miles.

I thought I had a bad coil and it end up being the injector in the same cylinder. My 02 went around the same miles as yours.

I was told that was the only code that was coming up. How much was the injector job?

Sorry for takin so long. It was like 550 total part labor if I can remember have to look for receipt. I went to a lexus tech that opened up a shop in beltsville md.
