It helps if you know someone in the club that can guide you through the layout. They have a wide variety of people and cars at these events. I actually saw a Mazda minivan tearing it up out there. The guy driving actually posted some good times. There was a 70s Nissan/Datsun 240 or 280 running the day we took the class. Ironically

The JD Power ratings however, are all about relatively new cars.
Since our LS430s range from 5 - 10 years, none of that is really applicable.
Your reference of the panels not matching color is where the JD Powers comment really applies. The car was delivered with this inconsistent coloring. Same with the steering wheel. Many of the LS430s have a slightly different color wood on the steering wheel vs the rest of the wood grain. Regardless, the overall initial quality and long-term (Consumer Reports) quality is better than any other luxury sedan out there.

A 5-10 yr old car will always have items that are wear and tear parts that need to be replaced. Keep up with the routine maintenance and replace worn mechanical parts and you'll be happy (though lighter in the wallet). With an expensive luxury car (original retail), parts/service are expensive. The price you pay when buying a used, non-certified, non-warrantied automobile.

Look at this poor fit of components:

And it is a 3-colour scheme to boot!
EDIT: it is even a 4-colour scheme...

The CL or UL trims with leather dash helps to alleviate the gaps on this particular portion of the dash. I also have black, which helps to blend in the different tones better too. I think the mismash of plastics here definitely hurt the overall appearance of the 430.

As for someone mentioning S2000 or Miata being bigger, they are convertibles, so aren't they technically fit for a person of infinite height?

Technically, infinitely high in the torso... with the top down.

My wife's 92 Miata was fun to drive and I fit OK. However, that was nearly 20 years and 50 lbs. ago for me. I would probably have a different opinion today.

You could do like Bubba Smith in Police Academy and rip the seat out and sit in back... but then in S2000 and Miata, there is no back. Sit on floor...
