Traded Wife's Lexus For An '08 5 Series BMW
After nine years, we have traded the wife's Lexus for an '08 535i BMW. The Lexus was great with a ride unmatched by anybody but it had no soul when driving in the mountains. This forum has been a great resource and is recommended for anyone owning or interested in a Lexus.

Huh .. So you plan to speed and curve up the mountain roads in the Bmw? Good luck with the 535. Nice car. Completely different driving experience.

Nice, the E60 is a good car (we have both). I use the LS430 as my DD and my grandfather has the 5 series. Both cars are very solid and feel like proper luxury rides. The 5 series does handle a lot nicer with minimal body roll and better weighted steering but sacrifices it with a firmer (but still comfy) ride. Enjoy the 5!

Nothing wrong with a change in vehicle there.
Even I agree the LS is not good if you live in the mountains. I loved my LS, it's perfect for long straight drives with some turns here and there.
But a mountain carver-then no.
You have to get something sportier/firmer.
I used to hate the Bangles 5 series design. Now that the new ones are out, I love bangle's design.
At least you can tell it's a 5 series from a mile away and not big 3 series/mini 7 series.
Do the 535 have the hpfp issues like the 335?

Drove a friend's manual 550i a few times and the clutch was hard, but it was definitely fun to drive and totally different than a typical Lexus. Not my cup of tea though, maybe I just like riding on clouds...
Also, her 550 has been in the shop much too many times for little electrical gremlins.
