I use a standard Toyota battery. I've heard good things about the Optima but not good enough to spend the extra $ 80 it costs when a standard battery will last fine for 5 years. If money is no object, get the Optima. I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for.

i put in the optima yellow top in.ordered it at advanced auto online and got 20% off .it was $179 otd.it is smaller then the lexus battery so you will not need the cover around the battery.

Any chance to get a 20% discount on one of those batteries would help persuade me to get one as well. You must have caught them at a good time cause they normally are not on sell. You may want to rethink not putting the battery cover back on, it keeps the battery from getting wet.

AC Delco Professional. 50 month free replacement warranty. It's the best replacement warranty in the industry. It's on the expensive side at around $109.

The best battery, which will fit perfectly, is the Interstate MTP-24F. Used by StanVanDam and many other folks on the board. Cost in Brooklyn, NY was $121.99 plus tax of $11.89. FTW

Honestly if your not running any aftermarket electrical items that pull more amperage from your system most any standard battery that fits will be fine. Otherwise I would look into a deep cycle battery with a lot of reserve capacity like an Odyssey/Hawker, Kinetic, Optima or XS Power.
