take off the rear emblems
#2
The SOP for this process is monofilament fishing line if there are no locating pins on the emblem.
Warning: When I bought my Subaru Outback, I questioned the previous owner about the missing rear emblems. He said he removed them to give it a cleaner look. I never gave it another thought until I traded the car in and the appraiser started making noise about the missing emblems and questioning whether the car had been damaged or somehow wasn't really an Outback, etc. I told him that was all nonsense and a guy who had supposedly been in the business for 25+ years would have known that some owner had simply shaved the rear hatch.

yup you can just remove it by slipping the line around the edge of emblem and working it loose ... there are locating pins though and it will leave small visible holes (i think 2 per side).

It would be nice if somebody designed and marketed some custom emblems.
